Taqueria El Paisano is expanding to 2530 NE 82nd Avenue, taking over the former Pickleback Tavern space in a stretch of Northeast Portland. The crew is already on-site working on the parking lot and selling tacos in the evenings while the full buildout continues, no official opening date has been announced.

The new location will be the third for Taqueria El Paisano, which already runs a well-loved spot at 8680 SW Canyon Road in Portland’s West Slope neighborhood and a second location on SE Powell Boulevard. Both have built a loyal following for their authentic Mexican street food made salsas that regulars swear love. The brand traces its roots to the streets of Michoacán and it can reflect in every bite.

A large sign is already posted outside tthe building saying“Karaoke, Margaritas, Micheladas”, signaling that this won’t just be a taco spot, but a full late-night destination. Both existing locations stay open until the early morning hours on weekends, making El Paisano one of Portland’s go-to spots when the night runs long and the hunger hits hard.

According to Bridgetown Bites, NE 82nd Avenue has been one of the most active corridors for new restaurant openings in Portland this year, and Taqueria El Paisano looks right at home in the mix.
