According to a recent article from Oregon Live, what was previously The Woodsman Tavern will now be a new concept called Los Burros Supremos at 4357 SE Division Street.
A representative of Los Burros Supremos was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.
According to Oregon Live’s article, this will be one of the two upcoming concepts at the location, with the new owner being Adán Fausto. Los Burros aims to be able to open sometime in November.
Los Burros Supremos is described as a “burrito haven” that will occupy the once-vacant Woodsman Market space. Fausto and his team are said to have exciting plans to explore regional burrito variations, including the Mission-style burrito, a weekend-only chilaquiles burrito, and the mini burritos that Fausto introduced during his mesquite-fueled Northern Mexican pop-up, Tacos Con Onda.
While Fausto takes on this new venture, his mesquite-grilled carne asada and flour tortillas at Tacos Con Onda will momentarily take a back seat. However, when it returns, expect an addition to the menu: corn tortillas, a frequent request from customers who are seeking an authentic Mexican experience, according to Oregon Live’s article.
Prior to Fausto’s takeover, Woodsman Tavern was originally founded by Duane Sorenson, who is also behind Stumptown Coffee. It later became home to Tasty N Daughters, relocated from North Portland, and eventually found a new life in 2021. The tavern, prior to its closure, was open for about two years, according to the company website.
