According to a recent permit filing, Statera Cellars will soon open its doors in East Portland, located at 109 SE Salmon Street.

“Our goal is to be able to open to the public sometime after the new year,” co-owner Luke Wyld told What Now Portland.

“Unlike traditional tasting rooms, each of the spaces is a work of art in itself, reminiscent of an art gallery. As you step into Statera, you’ll encounter a massive cloud installation that I am creating adorned with an assortment of stuffed animals. The cloud not only aims to add to the ambiance but will also have delightful lighting and concealed sound elements inside.”

“The space will have an air of cozy sophistication, with tall ceilings, a south-facing window offering stunning views of West Portland, and an all-white interior featuring beautifully restored wooden floors. Black granite tables and a stylish black seating arrangement complete the decor as well.”

“Statera Cellars is home to three distinctive wine labels: Statera, Est Wines, and Lares Wines. Each label brings its unique character and flavor profile to the table, ensuring that there’s something for every wine enthusiast to savor. We have a mission to “turn wine tasting upside down.” With that in mind, we aim to host a variety of events that extend beyond the wine glass, including wine tasting events, open table dungeon and dragon nights, and potentially figure drawing sessions,” Luke added.

Statera is a two-person operation, with Luke being one of the two co-owners and winemakers, as well as Meredith Bell. Both of them create wine and run all of the company operations cohesively. Wyld stated that ultimately, Statera’s goal is to keep the playful energy of the company alive in the space and to hold an ambiance more reminiscent of a gallery space than a traditional wine-tasting room.
