While an official opening date and the specifics of Tuff Talk’s offerings have yet to be confirmed, the permit filing lists their planned days of operations to be open every day from 12 PM to 6 PM, with a note stating it will be primarily open to customers by appointment.
According to Loop Net, the property is listed at a total of 5,300 square feet. The address is also home to Stone Barn BrandyWorks a few doors over in Suite B, where the permit filer Andy Garrison is also the head distiller.
Hailing from the city of Chicago, Andy Garrison has held the position of lead distiller at Stone Barn since 2012. An aficionado of the intricate world of distillation, his unquenchable curiosity is fueled by devouring technical white papers and immersing himself in cooperage conference proceedings. These pursuits serve as a wellspring of inspiration, particularly when sculpting Stone Barn’s whiskey program.
An ardent believer in the confluence of tradition and innovation, Andy finds his muse in diverse spirits and traditions from around the world. This eclectic amalgamation of influences infuses his craft with a unique vibrancy. However, Andy’s true passion lies in crafting exceptional projects. Whether it involves malting corn on his basement floor, fermenting winter squash infused with koji, or smoking malted wheat using retired barrel staves, his thirst for experimentation is unquenchable.
At the core of his journey is the artistry of distillation. Andy’s meticulous attention to detail and his ardent pursuit of perfection shape his role as the lead distiller. A dedicated guardian of the craft, he blends a deep respect for time-honored methods with an unrelenting drive to explore the boundaries of what’s possible, according to Stone Barn BrandyWork’s company website.
