Wayfinder Beer is set to open a second location in Troutdale, located at 105 SW 2nd Street, confirmed by the Director of Operations Annie Brix.
“We have our work cut out for us, but we’re hoping to be able to open sometime this summer,” Brix told What Now Portland, “Patrons can expect the same delicious beer and drink program, a more limited food menu (because we are supported by The Highlands Carts and Nico’s Ice Cream) and a cozy, fun, laidback atmosphere.”
“We are known for our patio and we will offer another excellent outdoor area that will be family-friendly and designed for different experiences. Guests may be joining us fresh off the river or from a hike with their dog but also for after-work cocktails, so we’re mindful to keep the design approachable and inclusive. The views of the Gorge will be highlighted with 2 story floor to ceiling windows in the taproom and an unobstructed sightline from the outdoor patio. This location will be able to support large groups and parties just like our SE pub.”
Wayfinder Beer describes itself as a beacon for beer enthusiasts seeking a unique and exceptional lager experience. With a passion for both the rich history and evolving techniques of lager brewing, the founders of Wayfinder Beer have embarked on a mission to redefine the boundaries of this beloved style.
At the core of Wayfinder’s philosophy is a deep appreciation for the art of cool fermentation and a relentless pursuit of excellence. To achieve malt complexities that were previously unattainable, the brewery has gone above and beyond, installing a dedicated decoction vessel. This commitment to innovation allows Wayfinder to harmoniously blend the time-honored traditions of brewing with cutting-edge scientific methods.
The beers crafted by Wayfinder Beer are a testament to this fusion of old and new. They represent a harmonious marriage of ancient brewing tactics, precision techniques inspired by the renowned Narziß style of German brewing, and the bold, audacious spirit that characterizes the American craft beer movement. With each sip, patrons are transported on a flavor journey that challenges their preconceived notions of what a lager can truly be.
While pushing the boundaries of lager brewing, Wayfinder Beer also pays homage to the rich brewing traditions of Europe and America. This commitment to honoring the heritage of these iconic beer cultures is evident in every glass poured at Wayfinder. It is a nod to the past that simultaneously looks towards the future, bridging the gap between generations of craft beer enthusiasts, according to the company website.
