New year, new beginning – at least that’s the plan for 36 Handles Public House at 1010 White Rock Rd in El Dorado Hills. The company changed owners in 2019 and again in 2022 to the current owner, Gurjeet Singh. The company posted on Instagram last week asking the public to vote for a new name. The owner also plans to do remodeling.

36 Handles is a beloved social spot in El Dorado Hills known for its 36 draft lines. About 10 lines stay with the same staple brews, while the other 26 are constantly rotating. While the rebranding decision seemed abrupt to some customers, many also indicated that since the change of ownership, the public house has felt different.

In a comment on the Instagram post asking for public name voting, the owner shared that they’re also doing interior remodeling. Obviously, the team is taking rebranding seriously and is going beyond a simple name change. The team also made another post indicating changes to the menu, although no further details were shared.

What Now Sacramento reached out to the owner, but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. While the restaurant’s future name, vibe, and menu updates hang in the air, patrons can at least expect the same service and hospitality they’re familiar with. Until then, jump over to their Instagram page as the team is asking about everyone’s favorite dish from the current menu. Obviously, community input will largely guide the rebranding process.
