A new boba tea shop called Boba Storie is planned for Elkhorn Plaza in Sacramento. The business’s website states that it is opening soon. The new cafe will occupy the vacant Ste A inside 5247 Elkhorn Blvd, a freestanding building that currently houses a few dental offices. Boba Storie is hoping to open in May.

Owned by husband-and-wife team Cherie and Jonnymar Salvador, Boba Stories is the couple’s first small business. The name Boba Storie is an affectionate dedication to the couple’s baby girl, who has Storie in her name.

“Our little girl is turning two. My husband calls her ‘boba milk’ and he said one day: let’s make her a boba tea shop. So this is for her. She can have a tea party every day,” Cherie Salvador told What Now Sacramento on the phone.

The cafe is dedicated to redefining the boba tea experience and unafraid to create unusual co mbinations. The menu features various classic milk tea and fruit tea flavors but also lists specialty smoothies, such as Matcha Cheesecake (matcha smoothie with cheese foam) and Berry Bonita (strawberry, blueberry, rainbow popping boba).

“My husband is Filipino and he has worked all around the world. He worked for a popular chain restaurant for a long time, but now we really want to do our own thing,” Salvador said.

Boba Storie will offer dine-in, take-out, and third-party deliveries with platforms such as Doordash and Postmates. The website also suggests that retail products will soon be available for grab-and-go. While no specific opening date is available, the website suggests the store is opening soon.

“We are so excited to open, and we hope everyone will find delicious drinks they love at our store. We cannot wait to meet all the new people,” Salvador said, adding that they hope to open a few additional locations once the first one is up and running.
