Those familiar with Faria Bakery since its earlier days might remember the establishment once offered weekly dinner services with expanded menu options for three years. The service was discontinued two years ago to free up the occupied space for the bakery’s growth, but the operators never shelved the idea of serving dinner completely. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.
Faria Bakery’s co-owners Christopher Beattie and Huzefa Chithiwala are working on a new restaurant called Solimar in Oak Park‘s Broadway Triangle. The upcoming business will take over the space at 3413 Broadway, which was formerly Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria’s only California location. The 2,600-square-foot space comes with a large patio and a to-go window for pickup orders.
According to the Business Journal, the upcoming restaurant will offer “slow pizzas” with a longer fermentation time for the dough and bake time for the pizza. Beattie told the Business Journal that “the initial plan is to operate Solimar during dinner hours from Friday to Sunday and expand hours as needed.”
Solimar is also hosting some pop-up events to gather community feedback on potential menu items and spread the words. The next event is planned for Aug. 10-11 as a pre-fixe dinner with an open wine bar, according to the concept’s website. Those interested in following along the opening journey can subscribe to the restaurant’s mailing list on its website.
Solimar is anticipated to open in mid-September.
