A bar and grill in Mansion Flats is temporarily closing to undergo a rebrand. Bear Dive changed hands to the current owner, Caroline Sailor, earlier this year. The business has closed as of today after its last day of service under the Bear Dive brand on Dec. 14. The new concept is expected to roll in on Dec. 28. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal.

Former owners Michael Gouddou and Timothy Mark Landregan opened Bear Dive in 2020 at 1330 H Street and sold the business to Sailor earlier this year.

“This transformation is not an end but a chance to evolve. We are evolving from identifying as a gay space into identifying as a truly inclusive queer space — a space that welcomes uplifts, and celebrates every part of the LGBTQIA2S+ spectrum. We already know this is who we are at our core, but this new chapter will come with a name, branding and messaging that aligns with the community we serve, built on the foundation of love, respect and inclusivity,” Sailor posted on Bear Dive’s social media, as shown in the Business Journal. The account has since been emptied to prepare for the new concept.

Sailor told the Business Journal that they were not ready to share any details regarding the new concept. What Now Sacramento reached out to Sailor but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
