Izumi Japanese Restaurant at 6840 Five Star Blvd, Suite 103, in Rocklin has new owners. State filings show Tsogt Inc, led by Ariunbold Tsogttuya and his wife, Enkhchimeg Ganshagdar, filed for a new liquor license on August 17, transferring from the previous operator, Izumi Sushi, LLC, run by Tony Chan and Dieu Ly since 2018.
Ganshagdar, who goes by Jenny and answers calls for the restaurant, confirmed to What Now Sacramento that the new ownership officially took over starting August 1. She said the menu and overall restaurant will stay the same under the new owners, with the only change being a delayed adjustment to business hours expected next month.
Izumi has built a big reputation in Rocklin since first opening in 1997, known for oversized sushi rolls and generous portions at reasonable prices. Regulars point to dishes like the Rocklin Roll, 5 Star Roll and Godzilla Roll as standouts, along with crispy shrimp tempura and a full menu of bento boxes, ramen, udon and sukiyaki. The restaurant also offers a sushi boat experience, floating orders directly to guests seated at the bar, along with happy hour specials that have helped it build a steady, loyal customer base tucked behind the Costco just off Five Star Boulevard.
