Jersey Mike’s Subs is preparing to open a new restaurant at 4551 Second St. in Davis, with an opening expected in December or January. Franchise owner Ernesto Torres confirmed to What Now Sacramento that the timeline is still being finalized.

The restaurant will follow the same format as other Jersey Mike’s locations, with nothing different planned. Known for its fresh-sliced subs, the chain makes each sandwich to order, slicing the meats in front of the customer.

Torres, a Sacramento native, said he chose Davis because of its community feel. “I think Davis is a great family town with a college that we can support and help, and bring something new to the community.”

The new location is listed on the Jersey Mike’s website as “coming soon”. It will be in the Second Street Crossing shopping center, anchored by Target and located at the northwest corner of Second Street and Mace Boulevard. Neighbors include Round Table Pizza and TJ Maxx.

“We’re a sandwich shop that brings great customer service and makes great subs. We slice it fresh as you order, so when you order, we slice it right in front of you. The vegetables are fresh. Every day, we do new vegetables, and we’re trying to keep everything as fresh as possible. Our motto is fresh to slice,” Torres told What Now Sacramento.
