Dollar Tree is heading to Orangevale, with a new 14,000-square-foot flagship store set to open at 8861-B Greenback Lane in the Cable Park shopping center before Thanksgiving, according to regional leasing director Kien Tsoi. The store will take over a portion of the space formerly occupied by CVS Pharmacy, which has since vacated the center.

The Orangevale location is the latest addition to a retail center that is quietly undergoing a significant transformation. Cable Park, anchored by Ross and Grocery Outlet at the corner of Greenback Lane and Hazel Avenue, one of the busiest intersections in the area with over 64,000 cars passing daily, has been attracting a wave of new tenants as older anchors like CVS exit the market.

Local brunch favorite Toasted Rooster Cafe is also in the works for the former Denny’s space at the center, previously reported by What Now Sacramento.

Dollar Tree, founded in 1986 and based in Chesapeake, Virginia, operates more than 16,000 stores across the United States and Canada. The chain has been in the middle of a major strategic transition in recent years, converting thousands of stores to a multi-price format under the Dollar Tree Plus banner to compete with rivals like Five Below and to offset inflation-driven cost pressures.

An exact opening date has not been announced. The landlord is currently dividing the former CVS space, according to The Sacramento Business Journal.
