Mattenga’s Pizzeria is continuing its growth across the San Antonio region, with plans to open a new location in New Braunfels, according to My San Antonio.
The San Antonio-based pizza chain is taking over the former Round Table Pizza space at the Marketplace shopping center along Interstate 35. The storefront previously housed Round Table Pizza and neighboring Fatburger, both of which closed earlier this year after operating for less than two years at 842 NW Loop 410, Suite 110, San Antonio, TX 78216.
An opening date has not been officially announced, though recent social media posts from the company indicate the restaurant is targeting a mid-June debut.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Matt and Enga Stanfield, Mattenga’s Pizzeria has grown from a single location into a multi-unit operation serving communities throughout the greater San Antonio area. The brand was recently recognized as Pizza Today’s 2025 Pizzeria of the Year.
According to the company’s website, the pair left their engineering careers in 2014 to pursue their dream of building a family-focused pizza business. Since then, the concept has become known for its scratch-made dough, house-made sauces, and New York-style pizzas with Texas-inspired flavors.
In addition to pizza, the menu features wings, calzones, and signature sauces such as jalapeño-cilantro ranch and basil garlic ranch.
The new restaurant will join the growing lineup of dining options along the New Braunfels retail corridor near Creekside and Buc-ee’s, an area that continues to attract both regional and national brands.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Mattenga’s Pizzeria for additional information regarding the upcoming location, but had not received a response at the time of publication. This article will be updated as more details become available.
