Lowe’s is planning a new home improvement store in Converse, with a more than 107,000-square-foot location planned near the intersection of East Loop 1604 North and Coppergate.

The project, listed under TABS2026028274 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, calls for the new construction of a Lowe’s home improvement store at the corner of E. Loop 1604 N. and Coppergate in Converse, TX 78239.

According to project records, the planned store will span approximately 107,136 square feet. Construction is estimated at $10.5 million and is scheduled to begin January 8, 2027, with completion targeted for October 29, 2027.

The project is classified as new construction and is privately funded on private property. Lowe’s Home Centers is listed as the owner, while no tenant has been assigned in the project records.

Genesis Design & Associates, LLC. is listed as the design firm, with Stephen A. Meyer serving as the registered architect for the project.

The project is currently listed as registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The planned Converse store would add another Lowe’s location to the San Antonio-area retail landscape, although additional details about the store’s design, features and opening date have not yet been announced.

WhatNow San Antonio reached out to Lowe’s for additional information about the upcoming Converse location, including its opening timeline and store details, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.
