Trinacria Pizza Co., a family-owned pizzeria serving Sicilian, New York, Detroit, and Chicago-inspired pizza, is getting ready to open in Oceanside at 608 N Coast Hwy.
The new restaurant is set to open in September 2026 and will replace the current home of Venezia Italian Cuisine, according to information from the San Diego Department of Environmental Health and Quality. The latest update comes from Salvatore “Tore” Trupiano, founder of Mangia e Bevi, who is opening the new concept with his son, Damiano Trupiano. Customers can expect made-from-scratch pizza, beer and wine, takeout, catering, and private and group dining.
Trinacria Pizza Co. draws from more than 100 years of Trupiano family history, beginning in Sicily before the family continued its journey through New York, Detroit, and California. The family’s history in each location influenced the restaurant’s approach to pizza, with each style representing a different part of that journey. The family arrived in California in 1986, and Oceanside is now home to the latest chapter of its restaurant story.
The menu will include Sicilian-style, New York-style, Detroit-style, and Chicago-inspired pizza. The restaurant says its pizzas will be made from scratch using long fermentation, traditional techniques, and quality ingredients. The concept will also offer dine-in service and online ordering for customers who want to enjoy the food at home.
Tore Trupiano is a third-generation restaurateur and Captain of the U.S. Pizza Team. His career includes restaurant kitchens, barbecue competitions, and national and international pizza championships. Through Mangia e Bevi, Trupiano has also earned local and national recognition for his approach to Italian food and hospitality.
In addition to pizza, Trinacria Pizza Co. will offer beer and wine, catering, and private and group dining. The restaurant will also provide takeout and online ordering, giving customers several ways to order. The Oceanside location will bring the Trupiano family’s long-running restaurant tradition to its new home on North Coast Highway.
