A family-owned microcraft brewery and restaurant will close its doors permanently in Vista, California. Prohibition Brewing Company announced its closure with a social media post on September 2. The brewery and restaurant have been serving the community for more than a decade.

Prohibition Brewing Set to Close Soon

Prohibition Brewing Company, located at 2004 E Vista Way in Vista, California, was founded in 2011 and has been a prominent part of the community for years. The brewery is known for its Prohibition-era-inspired atmosphere and has developed a following among local customers.

Through a social media announcement, the restaurant team confirmed the closure on September 2. They said that after a decade-and-a-half of serving Vista’s northernmost region, the brewery is closing.

In its announcement, “Prohibition Brewing puts the brewpub on the market and announces the date when they’ll permanently close their doors.”

Although, the post indicated that the brewery and restaurant are expected to close at the end of September, with an exact date to be announced.

About the Brewery

Nestled in Vista’s north end, the brewery is one of the highest-rated restaurants and breweries in the region. The restaurant offers wings, chicken tortilla soup, and hearty burgers and sandwiches.

The brewery’s offerings include lingonberry seltzer, strawberry seltzer, and hop water. Along with that, it has an extensive red and white wine list. The brewery produces its beers using a combination of traditional brewing methods and modern equipment.

The property also features an outdoor space perfect for large gatherings and events. The brewery also frequently hosts live music, entertainment, birthday parties, and other celebrations.

Several longtime customers expressed their disappointment in the comments following the announcement.

One customer wrote, “Awful News. I watched Ron and the Crew build it from scratch. Did my 50th birthday there. Many gigs and dinners.”

With the closure of Prohibition Brewing Company, the Vista community is losing a significant part of its dining scene.
