According to a recently submitted permit application, Berkeley business Juice Appeal opened a new location in the city last week.

Located at 1511 Shattuck Avenue, the shop is neighbored by Cafenated Coffee Company, Cheese Board Collective Pizzeria, and Chez Panisse.

Ilham Alhafnawi, who owns and operates the business alongside her children, tells What Now San Francisco, “We’re going to have a juice bar and we’re doing fresh-pressed organic juices… We also have some healthy eats right now.”

The eatery’s website offers a brief introduction: “Since 2000, Juice Appeal has been Berkeley’s go-to destination for vibrant, wholesome beverages. We specialize in organic, fresh-pressed fruit and green vegetable juices, invigorating smoothies, and nourishing açaí and pitaya bowls. Our menu also boasts energizing wheatgrass, ginger, and turmeric shots, satisfying bagels, and healthy snacks to complete your wellness journey.”

“I would love to have another location,” Alhafnawi tells What Now, adding, “We’re hoping to open a location in San Jose near the university… There aren’t many places around there like ours. It would be great to serve the students there.”
