Franko & Friends is set to debut at 2055B Union St. in San Francisco, bringing a coffee shop and breakfast concept that will transition into a wine bar in the evening, according to an alcohol license request filed with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. The business is targeting an early September opening, owner Iryna Nevozhai told WhatNow.
The upcoming establishment is a Ukrainian-owned business and will be an expansion of the company’s existing concept, Franko & Co., in Sausalito. According to Irina, the location operates primarily as a small coffee shop serving pastries and light breakfast. The San Francisco location will occupy a larger space, allowing the business to add wine and sparkling wine to the offering.
The Union Street location was selected because of its setting on a prominent San Francisco street with a number of local businesses, according to Iryna. She also said the owners discovered that the area has connections to local residents from nearby Sausalito, making the location a good fit for the business.
Franko & Friends is expected to serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast items during the day, before transitioning to wine service in the evening.
