A new restaurant has opened in San Francisco’s Mid-Market district. SoMa Social is a lively sports bar that brings comfort food and a community-focused atmosphere. It offers a space where people can gather, celebrate, and unwind.

On May 15, 2026, SoMa Social opened at 121 7th Street in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood. The new bar and eatery create a space fit for gatherings and celebrations.

Oxford Hotels & Resorts LLC created the space to offer something for everyone in the neighborhood. The venue offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, happy hour, sports viewing, group events, and late-night drinks. It is part of the ongoing revitalization of San Francisco’s Mid-Market district.

“We are thrilled to be contributing to the comeback of not just San Francisco but the SoMa market specifically,” said Grant Gedemer, Vice President of Food & Beverage, Oxford Hotels and Resorts. “Destinations like SoMa Social are essential to the vitality of any neighborhood, and we look forward to creating a space that brings people together to socialize, celebrate, and unwind.”

A Look at the Sports-Inspired Interior

Dunne Kozlowski designed the space inside SoMa Social. The interior of the restaurant blends vintage sports-inspired details with modern gastropub elements. It features warm wood accents, layered lighting, vintage memorabilia, and sports-themed art.

The design creates a welcoming atmosphere that transitions from daytime coffee meetups to nighttime celebrations. The space inside features wall-to-wall TVs, flexible seating, and a semi-private lounge called The Huddle Lounge. SoMa Social joins a growing number of businesses contributing to renewed activity in the Mid-Market neighborhood.

Chef-Led Menu Highlights

Chef Dan Talton leads the menu at SoMa Social. Drawing on experience at Lord Stanley and Fog City Diner, Talton’s menu delivers an elevated take on comfort food classics. The menu offers breakfast dishes, including French toast and sausage Benedict.

The lunch and dinner options include hot honey chicken biscuits, pork belly nachos, and steak frites. The drinks menu includes local craft beers, cocktails, and celebratory shots. Signature cocktails include the End Zone Dance, Play Time Mule, Shot Clock, and Red and Gold Fashioned.

SoMa Social aims to become a welcoming neighborhood destination for locals and visitors alike.
