Animo, a Sonoma-based concept known for Korean and Basque fusion cuisine, is shuttering its spot on Sonoma Highway and planning to relocate.

In a recent Instagram post, Chef and Owner Joshua Smookler and his wife Heidi He share, “Animo will permanently cease its operations at its current location after the conclusion of service on Sunday, December 17.”

The announcement continues, “Animo will be relocating to a new venue, offering an entirely new and captivating menu. The anticipated grand opening of Animo’s new location is expected to take place in the summer of 2024.”

The address of the upcoming location has not been announced yet, so follow the eatery on Instagram for updates.

In the meantime, locals can look forward to dining at another of Smookler and He’s upcoming restaurants, Golden Bear, which will begin accepting reservations starting December 20.
