A longtime PostalAnnex location at 117 Bernal Rd Ste 70, in San Jose, is changing ownership after almost three decades of serving the community, with resident Ashruti Patel and her husband, Nikhil Patel, taking over ownership from the store’s retiring operator.
For Patel, the transition is more than a business acquisition: it is the continuation of a neighborhood institution she and her family have relied on.
“The previous owner served the community for about 27 years,” Patel told WhatNow. “We used to go there ourselves for passport photos and all the services we needed. It’s only about five minutes from my house.”
One of the factors that attracted Patel to the business was its strong customer base and longstanding ties to the community. She told WhatNow customers welcomed the transition from the beginning. Some stopped by with gifts and cakes to celebrate the store’s next chapter.
