Chef Hari Nayak is bringing an entirely new Indian restaurant concept to The Yard at Harvest in Woodinville, introducing his first Seattle-area restaurant.
While the restaurant’s name has not yet been announced, Nayak told What Now Seattle that the concept is being built specifically for the Harvest development and is expected to open in late spring or early summer 2027.
Instead of focusing on a single region of India, the restaurant will feature dishes from across the country, with a menu centered around charcoal grilling and tandoor cooking.
“Most Indian restaurants out there are more traditional, focused on Northern Indian curries and stereotypical dishes. We’re trying to break the mold and showcase that there’s more to regional Indian cuisine than just samosas, naan, butter chicken, or chicken tikka masala,” Nayak said.
Familiar favorites will still appear on the menu, but guests can also expect lesser-known regional dishes alongside a beverage program centered on cocktails and Pacific Northwest wines selected to complement the restaurant’s spice-driven cuisine.
Nayak said Seattle had been on his radar for some time, making Woodinville a natural place to introduce the new concept. He pointed to the region’s food and wine culture, along with the quality of Pacific Northwest produce, as key reasons behind the decision.
“What we’re most excited about is using the amazing produce of the Pacific Northwest and giving it an Indian flair to it, which I think has never been done before.”
The chef said the restaurant won’t be a formal fine-dining destination. Instead, he envisions a refined but relaxed space where guests can enjoy cocktails and discover Indian dishes they may not have tried before.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, chef Hari Nayak has opened restaurants including JHOL in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, Masti in Dubai, Baraabaru at Four Seasons Maldives, Bombay Bungalow in Dubai, and Sona in New York. He is also the author of several cookbooks.
The Woodinville restaurant will join the growing lineup of restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms, and specialty retailers at The Yard, Harvest’s retail district.
