The old home of Unfiltered Lakeland, at 801 E Main Street in Lakeland, will soon be the new home of upcoming restaurant Grievous Angel. Headed up by Jeremy Brumley, founder of Lovebird, the new restaurant was expected to open late last year, but that opening never eventuated.

The news was announced back in October by LAL Today in an Instagram post:

“Guests can expect to dine on smashburgers, hot dogs, and fries in a honky-tonk-style setting,” the post revealed.

Now, the opening process appears to be moving forward as Grievous Angel Lakeland LLC has submitted plans for its opening at the Main Street address.

The new restaurant will make a great sister concept to Lovebird, known for its “almost famous chicken” served up in its original home in Lakeland and now in a second location in Winter Haven.

A representative could not immediately be reached for comment on Thursday.
