Bar Romy, a new Italian-focused restaurant, is preparing to open in Toronto at 295 Adelaide Street West.

The company’s new restaurant will move into the former home of Figo, an Italian restaurant in Toronto’s Entertainment District that permanently closed in early 2026 after nearly a decade of operation, according to BlogTO. The space is owned by Ink Entertainment, which also operates venues including Honey Chinese, Primadonna, and Vinny. Figo briefly shut down in 2023 after a fire broke out in the early morning, resulting in a months-long closure before it reopened and later closed permanently. While an exact opening date has not been confirmed, Bar Romy is expected to open later this summer.

Figo originally built its identity around a mix of traditional Italian dishes and original creations, serving the Entertainment District for most of a decade before its closure. Ink Entertainment has maintained a strong presence across Toronto’s hospitality scene through its broader portfolio of restaurants and nightlife venues. The transition from Figo to Bar Romy continues the group’s activity within the downtown core, where it operates multiple established concepts.

Limited details have been released about Bar Romy’s full concept at this stage. Early visuals shared online suggest a focus on approachable Italian staples, though no full menu or design plans have been confirmed publicly. Based on available information, the concept appears to continue within the same culinary direction as its predecessor while introducing a refreshed identity for the space.

This will be an excellent landing space for Bar Romy given its location along Adelaide Street West in the Entertainment District, an area with steady foot traffic from nearby offices, entertainment venues, and residential buildings. The address has long hosted hospitality concepts, making it a familiar dining destination for local customers.
