Dampf Good BBQ, the Texas-style barbecue concept founded by brothers Nick and Bryce Dampf, is set to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 321 W. Geer St. in downtown Durham. According to a Durham Downtown Instagram post, the concept will move into the former home of The Pit on Geer Street.
The brothers have developed Dampf Good BBQ as a pop-up centered on Texas-style barbecue, building a following before making the move into a permanent restaurant. The Michelin Guide has also recognized Dampf Good BBQ, adding to the attention surrounding the concept as it prepares for its Durham debut.
The new location will give Dampf Good BBQ a permanent presence along Geer Street, rather than operating solely through its pop-up format. Durham Downtown reported the upcoming restaurant as part of its downtown business announcements, identifying the former The Pit space as the concept’s future home.
For Dampf Good BBQ, the Durham restaurant marks a transition from a pop-up operation to a permanent brick-and-mortar concept. Durham Downtown confirmed the Geer Street location, while an official opening date has not yet been announced.
The forthcoming restaurant will bring Dampf Good BBQ’s Texas-style barbecue to a permanent downtown Durham address. Additional details about the opening, operating hours and menu have not yet been announced by the sources cited above.
