Following a successful rebrand earlier this year, a popular Alexandria dining institution is preparing a new chapter for its second story. After transitioning from Del Ray Pizzeria into Del Ray Public House, the team behind that venerable establishment is planning to bring a concept called Cubbies to its upstairs bar space, reports local media outlet ALXNow.

Cubbies is not the first concept Del Ray Public House has tried out in its second story 2218 Mount Vernon Avenue storefront. Owner Laurel Fisher states that a partner will be coming on board to launch the new concept, though that partner remains unnamed for the moment.

Cubbies will appeal pretty strongly to local carnivores. The eatery will focus heavily on hot dogs and Italian sausages.

A precise opening date is not presently available, however Cubbies should be ready to serve customers in the not too distant future.

Cubbies debut is part of the recent overall rebranding and refocussing of Del Ray Public House which began in January of this year. Speaking of this next evolution of the neighbourhood favorite, Fisher states: “I felt like there were things that were really missing in the neighborhood. We really need a place where everyone can feel at home and get a hearty meal, and I’m bringing in new flavors that are high quality but with a reasonable price.”
