Montgomery County is getting a new home for Mexican cuisine. Paperwork shows that a concept called El Metate is planning to open in Wheaton and has applied for a liquor license at the location.
El Metate has applied to open at 2302-2304 Price Avenue. The restaurant has submitted an application for a New Class B, Beer, Wine & Liquor License with the Board of License Commissioners for Montgomery County.
El Metate is something of a mystery; the concept does not have a digital footprint at all, so all of the information available about the eatery comes from its liquor license application. While the details included are hardly comprehensive, they are thorough enough to give future customers a taste of what’s in store.
El Metate will span 1,796 square feet and will feature an outdoor cafe alongside indoor dining and a bar. The detailed description included on the form describes the restaurant as a: “Mexican restaurant serving food, beer, wine, and liquor.”
El Metate’s hours of operation are listed as Monday through Thursday, from 11 am to 10 pm, Friday through Saturday, 11 am to 11 pm, and from 11 am to 9 pm on Sunday.
