DC diners, get ready to take a bite out of some of Chicago’s best pizza. Giordano’s Pizza’s is inching closer to its hotly anticipated District arrival, likely to occur in the next few months, reports local media outlet PoPville.

DMV pizza fans have been eagerly awaiting the chain’s opening at 600 14th Street, NW. Giordano’s is taking over the storefront occupied by MXDC Cocina Mexicana until its relocation in 2024. Originally slated to open this spring, Giordano’s team now confirms they are aiming to be ready for customers by early summer.

Giordano’s has been flipping pies since 1974. It’s earned considerable accolades-the website details some of the praise it has received, saying: “Giordano’s is constantly making headlines, both in Chicago and nationally. The brand garners frequent media coverage and continuously tops “Best Pizza” lists and dining guides. Giordano’s has been acclaimed “Chicago’s Best Pizza” by NBC, CBS Chicago, New York Times, Chicago Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Eater, Home & Garden Magazine, Concierge Preferred and more!”
