“World famous chicken” is making its way to a new Gaithersburg location. Royal Farms is hoping to open its third area storefront, bringing convenience, fuel, and freshly prepared food to the region.

Royal Farms has filed papers to develop at 397 Watkins Mill Road. The concept intends to span 5,380 square feet which will contain gas pumps, parking, and-of course-the convenience store itself.

Should everything go according to plan, the new Royal Farms location will join storefronts in Silver Spring and on Watkins Road. An opening timeline is not presently available for the concept.

Royal Farms may seem an unlikely home for unmissable chicken, but the chain has developed a reputation for its approach to poultry. USA Today named it the “Best Gas Station for Food” in 2024, fueled in large part by its chicken, described on the website as “Hand-breaded with our famous spice blend, pressure cooked in small batches around the clock, and always fresh & hot!”
