The Fairfax County fast-casual dining scene may soon be welcoming a veritable giant of the industry. Taco Bell, steered by franchise group Summerwood Corp., is making moves towards opening its first location in Centreville, reports Washington Business Journal.

The incredibly popular chain has filed papers with Fairfax County to open a restaurant complete with a drive-thru at 5866 Old Centreville Road. Taco Bell will be an interesting evolution for the 1 acre plot which is currently occupied by a single-family home and garage. Should all go according to plan, these structures will need to be razed before Taco Bell can be built.

Submitted paperwork states that Taco Bell will span 2,800 square feet and will feature a double drive-thru lane. The restaurant will be open from 7 am to 2 am. and will feature 17 parking spaces.

It is still too early in development to reasonably estimate an opening timeline for Taco Bell’s prospective Centreville location. The necessary paperwork was filed very recently, and Summerwood will need the property to be rezoned and a special exception will be needed to move forward.
