Big changes are making their way to a prominent space in the Tysons Corner Center. Rumors related to Eataly zeroing in on the shopping center for a new DMV home are being lent further credence thanks to the approval of buildout permits issued in late May, reports Washington Business Journal.
Before the chain can begin to build out its new space at 1961 Chain Bridge Road, the former tenant needs to go. Fairfax County has issued the permits necessary for demolition of the two story American Girl girl store currently in the space.
Eataly will be inheriting a massive storefront for its net home, totalling 23,000 square feet.
Representatives from Eataly and Tysons Corner Center have remained coy about the new location, declining to confirm what the permits strongly suggest. However the chain has been pursuing a DMV-area storefront for quite some time and Tysons Corner Center has become an extremely desirable location, making the pairing ideal for both parties.
