Alexandria readers are about to be part of the return of a retail giant. After a slow period, Barnes and Noble is mounting a comeback, and as a part of that resurgence, the book store will be opening a location in the Shoppes at Foxchase.
The area literati will be able to add to their to-be-read pile at 4515 Duke Street. Barnes and Noble will have ample space to stock up on the best across genres in its upcoming 13,000 square foot storefront.
While an opening date is not yet available, a spokesperson confirmed that Barnes and Noble anticipates the store being customer ready before the end of the year.
The Alexandria store will be part of Barnes and Nobles’ greater push to open at least 60 new stores before the end of 2026. The chain has truly dominated the world of retail books. It has been steadily rebuilding its brick and mortar presence after dropping to less than 600 locations in 2023.
