A new cafe is reportedly getting ready to open on Logan Avenue this spring.
Eater San Diego reports that Chef and partner Mario Maruca will be opening Cafe Califas in a 4,500-square-foot property in the heart of Barrio Logan.
Cafe Califas will be on the same block as Por Vida and Ciccia Osteria in the up-and-coming neighborhood.
The restaurant’s backyard kitchen suite will reportedly feature a wood-fired oven, a smoker, and grills.
Maruca previously co-founded neighborhood pizza parlor The Friendly and Caliano Pizza Food Truck before Cafe Califas.
Maruca could not be reached for comment in time for publication.
