The Taco Stand may be preparing to open a new location at Grossmont Center in La Mesa. According to public records filed with the Department of Environmental Health and Quality, the taquería is eyeing a space at 5500 Grossmont Center Drive, Suite 22-D.
Founded in La Jolla in 2013 by Aram Baloyan and Julian Hakim, The Taco Stand operates under Shōwa Hospitality. The restaurant is known for its Tijuana and Baja inspired menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and breakfast plates, made with handmade tortillas and salsas prepared daily, according to the company.
What Now San Diego reached out to Vice President of Operations Mike Roels for more information about the project but did not receive a response before press time. An opening timeline remains unclear.
The Taco Stand operates several locations across San Diego, including Downtown, North Park, La Jolla, and Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa. The brand also has outposts at San Diego International Airport and Snapdragon Stadium.

When The Taco Stand opened on Convoy Street nearly five years ago, Hakim told What Now San Diego that the brand aims to maintain the same menu across its locations.
