Bump Coffee had its humble beginnings like many other eateries and shops: at the local farmers market. And while the coffee company has grown substantially, the coffee it produces remains organic and locally roasted.

According to the company’s website, the beans are hand selected from “diverse geographical regions in South American to bring…a rich heritage and taste” to Bump’s coffee.

With a shop in Cardiff and the roastery in San Diego (not to mention the company’s great whip), it’s safe to say Bump has established itself among San Diegan coffee enthusiasts.

Now, a permit application suggests the company is ready to expand beyond the Cardiff community. Bump Coffee recently filed a permit application for 1302 Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas. The new spot sits at the corner of the 101 and W Jason St, only a few blocks inland from Grandview Surf Beach. We were unable to reach co-owners Ryan Perry and Trevor Mertens at the time of publication, but you can always follow Bump’s social media for updates.
