Co-living development and investment company Domos has presented its plans for a 10-story, 87-unit project in the Hancock Park neighborhood to the Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council‘s land-use committee, documents from the group’s late May meeting show.
The development plans are slated for 410 N. Rossmore Ave., where a five-story, 90-year-old apartment building would be revamped to rise just over 100 feet. The property is just south of the historic El Royale Apartments and across the street from Wilshire Country Club.
Through an affiliate, Domos and Beverly Hills-based ESI Ventures acquired 410 N. Rossmore for $29 million early last year, according to county property records.
In May 2020, the joint venture went on to announce its plans to work with Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects to reconfigure the property while honoring its original architectural context, including by preserving its facade.
The building was originally designed by Max Maltzman with a French Gothic style, according to Domos’ presentation.
Interior renovations call for reimagined apartments, at least some of which will be of the co-living variety, according to a project website.
Domos said last year that it anticipates a 36-month timeline before the project’s completion.
