Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group proudly announces The Madrigal, a modern cocktail bar in the Civic Center area, according to a press release from AF&Co. Set to open during the first week of December, The Madrigal is replacing Hi Neighbor’s previous restaurant, Corridor.
Designed as a cocktail bar and restaurant, The Madrigal is perfect for a night on the town but lively enough to visit during the day. As the Hi Neighbor group’s first cocktail forward project, The Madrigal promises a drink menu featuring 16 signature cocktails created under the mastery of Mike McCardle, and a wine program expertly led by Lucas Bierbower.
Libations include “The Screen Test,” a Dark Rum and Kumquat concoction balanced with coconut milk, basil, and Thai chili. There is also the “The French Fit,” a silky combination of Chartreuse, suze, cocchi americano, and tequila.
The food menu is developed by Hi Neighbor Director of Culinary Development, Joe Humphrey, who says, “The Madrigal is first and foremost a cocktail bar in the heart of the city, so for the food menu, we want to offer an eclectic collection of dishes that complement the wide range of cocktails we will be offering. It’s important to us that the menu is approachable, and easily shareable, and that the dishes themselves draw inspiration from the great drinking cultures around the world while staying true to our Bay Area culture of showcasing local and sustainable products.”
Expect delectable dishes such as Risotto with Monterey Bay squid and shaved porcini mushrooms, as well as Liberty duck smash burger with Fontina cheese, and black truffle mayo. There will also be a pull apart style bread service featuring fermented black garlic bread.
The Madrigal is situated steps away from City Hall, as well as the iconic Symphony, Opera, Jazz Center and Orpheum. They will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to close, and will soon implement a late-night happy hour. For more information visit www.themadrigalsf.com.
