According to a recent permit filing, Awesome Beer Bar has filed for a Cathedral Park location at 8600 N Ivanhoe Street.

“We will be opening sometime in mid-August. We’ll have a wide array of local as well as specialty breweries, both on tap and packaged. We have an early 90s vibe, so expect some Nintendo 64 tourneys, Simpson’s arcade game, and perhaps even some NES to pair with fresh beer, great wine, and a variety of N/A options. Even if you can’t stay, there will be plenty of awesome beer to take home,” co-owner Kellye Moore told What Now Portland.

“My partner Joe and I both met in craft beer — he’s been brewing for ten years or so, and I’ve been on the bartender turned manager side. We both enjoy nerding out on good brew and cultivating a space where the community can gather, especially in the St. John’s neighborhood where we also live! And ultimately, isn’t ever an industry lifer’s dream job to be a bartender with no boss?”

According to the permit filing, the planned days of operation are Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 10 PM with Friday being open until 11:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 10 PM with Saturday being open until 11:30 PM.

The permit filing also includes planned days of operation for an outdoor area that will include food and alcohol menu options. Monday through Friday the outdoor operating hours are planned to be from 3 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 10 PM.
