Papa Murphy’s is opening a new location in Sunriver at 56815 Venture Lane, with the opening expected in November. The restaurant is going into the former Subway space in the Sunriver Business Park on Venture Lane, near the Shell station and the Century Commons food truck lot.

The new shop will be run by franchisees Joshua and Samantha Kimzey, who are opening it as their first Papa Murphy’s. Construction and new signage have been going up at the site in recent weeks, and a “Hiring Soon” flyer was shared on Facebook, a sign that the couple is putting together a team for the opening.

Papa Murphy’s is a take ’n’ bake pizza chain, where pizzas are made fresh in the store and then baked at home by the customer. Orders can be placed in person, online or by phone, and the menu also includes salads, desserts and soft drinks. The concept suits Sunriver, a resort community where many visitors stay in vacation rentals with full kitchens and look for an easy dinner after a day outside.

The brand has Oregon roots. It traces back to Papa Aldo’s Pizza, founded in Hillsboro in 1981, which later merged with California’s Murphy’s Pizza in 1995 to form Papa Murphy’s. The company is headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, and has been owned since 2019 by Canadian company MTY Food Group. It has more than 1,300 locations in the United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates.

The Sunriver plans were reported by KTVZ.
