Exciting news for Alexandria chicken fans who think they’ve seen and tasted everything: innovative entrepreneur Steve Salis has turned his inventive eye onto the crowded poultry market. Salis is bringing a new location of his concept Honeymoon Chicken to the Carlyle Crossing development.

Honeymoon brings considerable pedigree with it to its future 2461 Mandeville Lane home; the cuisine has won the Bib Gourmand award 3 times. Alexandria foodies have ample time to build up an appetite for the restaurant; a press release shared with What Now DC states that Salis and his Catalogue restaurant group anticipate opening in late 2025 or early 2026.

The Alexandria location will be Honeymoon’s second home. The eatery, which differentiates itself by focusing on the three guiding tenants of quality, preparation, and signature finishes, is currently feeding diners in DC.

Salis explains that Catalogue is excited about bringing something new to the Alexandria neighborhood. “Honeymoon has been a passion project for the company. We understand there are many fried chicken spots to choose from, but it’s been our singular mission to deliver an excellent and differentiated fried chicken experience .We’ve put in the work to create an eclectic environment that matches the energy and vibrancy of the burgeoning Carlyle neighborhood, and we look forward to bringing ‘fancy fried chicken’, to the community.”
