The Jam at 915 H Street in Arcata changed hands this fall. New owner and seasoned bartender Angela Robershotte will fill the place with a new bar concept called Wild Hare Tavern. The business will have a simple menu with classic bar food and is anticipated to open within the next couple weeks, once final health department inspection and liquor licenses are approved.

Robershotte, who was born and raised in Arcata, began bartending in her 20s and has worked at many establishments in town, including her latest position at the Basement. Since her purchase of the property, Robershotte has done some extensive interior work, including restoring the original mahogany bar top.

“I know my way around a bar and I’m learning about restaurants,” Robershotte said in a previous article published on North Coast Journal. “I was born and raised in Arcata, so it’s the only place I’d want to own a bar.”

Robershotte told What Now Sacramento over the phone that she is actively hiring for experienced bartenders. Qualified individuals interested in working with a new local tavern should stop by the business or keep an eye open as Robershotte works toward launching new social media profiles and a website for the bar.
