Aldi No. 2 Planned for Sussex County

Construction will begin at the Peninsula Crossing site in the spring.

Later this year, Aldi, a German grocery store chain, will open its second Sussex County store in Millsboro, DE. The new 19,ooo sq. ft. location is planned for Peninsula Crossing, at 26676 Centerview Dr., between Lowe’s and PetSmart. Delaware Online reports that construction is expected to begin in the spring. This will be Aldi’s eighth Delaware store.

ALDI U.S. is a privately held company and does not franchise. Aldi stores have a curated selection of exclusive brands to offer lower prices and cut down on the overwhelm of massive product selection in bigger box stores. According to their website, there are about 2,000 Aldi stores in 36 states. The grocer is on track to be the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of the year.
