An Italian bakery is rolling out in Summerville, and just in time for the cooler days ahead.

After an 18-month search for the perfect space, husband-and-wife duo Charles and Jacklyn Talucci have finally found a home for their new venture, Talucci’s Bakery, at 145 Central Ave.

Slated to open in early October, the bakery promises an array of European and Italian-inspired delights, including gelato, cannolis, custom wedding cakes, freshly baked bread, and even gluten-free options. Talucci’s will also offer ethically sourced, authentic Italian coffees, cappuccinos, and espresso.

Inspired by his Italian heritage and his father’s distinguished career as an Olympic chef, Charles brings over two decades of experience in the industry and has trained under a roster of esteemed pastry chefs. Originally from Freeland, Maryland, he graduated from Baltimore International College in the early 2000s, where he studied the art of baking and pastry.

But Charles isn’t the only one bringing an impressive portfolio to the table. The Talucci’s Bakery team recently returned from an exclusive barista training in Florence, where they mastered the art of Italian coffee making.

In an interview with Jimmy Farrell from CHS Happenings, Jacklyn described their vision for the bakery:

“We plan to create an atmosphere where every guest is greeted with a warm smile and the most enchanting aroma,” she said. “Our commitment to excellence in both customer and culinary service will set us apart. Our authentic Italian coffee, a rare gem that transports you straight to Italy, is a hallmark of our offerings.”

The bakery itself will radiate warmth, featuring a cozy sit-down area and designated spaces with outlets for those who wish to work on-site while enjoying coffee and fresh pastries.

“With 8 children between us, this venture will be a true family affair, and we are thrilled to impart the invaluable lessons of entrepreneurship and being close to our community to the next generation,” said Jacklyn. “What better way to do this than through the exquisite flavors of Italian pastries?”
