Woodfield Development, one of the nation’s top 20 developers of Class A multifamily communities, has announced the completion and opening of Flora, a new residential community in the heart of Carnes Crossroads. Punctuated by native greenery and integrated green spaces, Flora combines the area’s natural beauty with modern convenience in Summerville, South Carolina. Designed within the master-planned Carnes Crossroads neighborhood, Flora offers residents seamless access to dining, shopping, entertainment, and outdoor recreation located just two miles from the bustling Nexton area.
Woodfield Development has deep roots in the Carolinas, with Flora marking its 25th community in South Carolina. Over the past 15 years, the Charleston-based firm has delivered more than 4,300 units, totaling over $1 billion in the state. Leveraging the city’s exceptional growth and demand, Woodfield has maintained a strong development pipeline. In 2024, the company celebrated the opening of two apartment communities in Downtown Nexton, The Ames and The Radler, in addition to the completion of Goddard Point Hope in Charleston last month.
Having announced preleasing in April 2024, over 34% of the community has already been leased.
“The completion of Flora marks an exciting milestone for Woodfield Development,” said Mike Schwarz, partner at Woodfield Development in a statement. “This community reflects our commitment to creating thoughtfully designed spaces that enrich the lives of our residents. Its prime location in Carnes Crossroads offers seamless access to Summerville’s dining, shopping, and recreational opportunities. We’re proud to contribute to the continued growth of this vibrant area and are excited to see Flora become a cornerstone of the Carnes Crossroads community.”
Located at 4000 Long Pond Lane within the Carnes Crossroads master-planned community, Flora features 290 well-appointed residences, offering a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments with open layouts, 9-foot ceilings, modern kitchens equipped with energy-efficient appliances, granite countertops, walk-in closets, in-unit washers and dryers and private balconies. The amenity-rich community includes a resort-style pool, a fitness center, a community garden, grilling stations, co-working spaces, a residents’ lounge, a pickleball court and a pet-friendly area with a dog park and pet spa, all designed to enhance residents’ lifestyles.
