Developer Capital City Real Estate is moving forward with plans for The Indie, a 91-unit condo project at 628 Edgewood Ave. in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.

On Tuesday, a permit application was filed to begin construction on the 12-story mixed-use project’s foundation and parking deck, listing a cost of construction of $3.1 million.

Capital City Real Estate didn’t respond to a request for comment on the project or filing this week.

The developer first submitted a special administrative permit application for the development in late 2018, calling for 91 for-sale units and 14,000 square feet of non-residential space. Plans now call for 16,000 square feet of office and retail space, according to a project webpage.

Based in Washington, D.C., Capital City is also the developer of nearby Airline, a 29-unit condo project just up Airline Street from The Indie. Condos for the Airline are currently selling, Capital City’s website shows.

It also has plans for a 24-story mixed-use project at 1429 Peachtree St. NE, named The Rhapsody, which would include 270 apartments and 55 condos.
