Chef Ford Fry is closing JCT Kitchen in Westside Provisions District after a 15-year run, according to an announcement from the longstanding eatery Thursday.
But the space won’t sit dark, and Fry isn’t vacating. Instead, the chef is bringing something new to the space in 2022 that will “benefit the neighborhood.”
“I have always wanted to do what I feel would benefit the neighborhood, so with that in mind, we will be wrapping up JCT’s time on the westside to make room for something new in 2022,” Fry posted to his personal social media Thursday. “I am so grateful for the last 15 years and everything our team has accomplished. I know many people might not understand the decision to close a flourishing restaurant, so I am asking you to trust me!”
Atlantans’ last chance to dine at JCT will be New Year’s Eve and then “we will be closing to begin construction,” the chef wrote.
“I can’t wait to share more about what is coming and know you will be just as excited as I am!”
Details are scarce when it comes to what’s set to take JCT’s place. The only hint Fry dropped was an image of what appears to be a dove carrying a rose in its beak (shown below.) Fry’s parent company Rocket Farm Restaurants is behind restaurants like The Optimist, St. Cecilia, Marcel, and Superica.
