Downtown Milford, DE is getting a brand new Surf Bagel this year at 204 NE Front St. Construction on the new location is expected to start this summer so that the bagel shop can open before the end of the year. The brand’s flagship shop opened in Lewes in 2004, and their second in Rehoboth’s Midway Shopping Center in 2017.

“I love Milford and have always wanted to be a part of the community,” SoDel Concepts President Scott Kammerer said. “It is a growing area with incredible people. As a coastal business, we appreciate Milford’s rich history as an important hub in Delaware. Its history, attractions, and communities have much to offer visitors and residents.”

SoDel Concepts, a Rehoboth Beach-based hospitality group that also owns venues like Fish On, Crust & Craft, and Thompson Island Brewing Company, bought Surf Bagel in 2021. The company will do a full renovation on the Milford location, which will employ about 45 people, and continue expanding the brand over the next few years. Surf Bagel offers bagels, spreads, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, cheesesteaks, salads, and smoothies.

“Milford has already warmly welcomed us, and we know that the new store will be a big success,” Kammerer said.
