A new grocery, Mecca Market, could open in Sachse sometime this December. Mecca Market partner Abdel Rahman Elarja told What Now Dallas they are working on the floor plan and are currently in the permitting process for the new space.

“We are going to have halal meat. We’re going to have a grocery,” Elarja said. Some other items include hummus and baba ghanoush. “We can also offer Pakistani and Indian food.”

Elarja said the area is seeing a growth of the Middle Eastern community. “I think it is going to be very good for the city.”

Elarja hopes Mecca Market provides locals in Sachse, Wylie, and surrounding areas with a needed service. “If a Middle Eastern people or person needs to buy anything, he has to drive 15 minutes or 20 minutes to get these things, so this will be helping the community here.”

Mecca Market will be located at 6504 Highway 78, Ste. 140 in Sachse. Sharon Herrin with Herrin Commercial Real Estate was involved in the leasing transaction.
