Elementary, an original, chef-led independent restaurant, will soon open at 2026 S Lamar Blvd, alongside upcoming bar Hopscotch and replacing the former 8-Bit Pizza.
The restaurant is the brainchild of friends and restaurateurs Allan Bautista, Colter Peck and Chris Aria and will be arriving at its debut brick-and-mortar location after participating in several pop-up events and private dinners in 2022 & 2023.
The Austin Business Journal reports that “In roughly 1,800 square feet, Elementary will serve a menu that blends nontraditional flavors that will feel familiar yet playful.”
The menu, spearheaded by Peck, who previously cooked at Le Pigeon in Oregon and Proud Mary in Austin will feature “dishes such as al pastor tortellini, banh mi eclairs and birria soup dumplings,” according to The Business Journal.
The report adds that the space will accommodate for “40 customers inside and 12 outside”, alongside the 14 indoor and six outdoor seats at Hopscotch.
Considering the scarcity of detail, readers seeking to more clearly understand Elementary can Chris Aria’s succinct conceptual description, as told to Eater: “Fine dining that feels comforting.”
