Galpao Gaucho, the Brazilian Steakhouse with locations throughout California, as well as South Carolina and Nevada, appears poised to open an outpost at 1830 Main St in Irvine, according to a commercial building application filed with the city yesterday, June 29.
A representative of Galpao Gaucho did not return a request for comment.
Incidentally, that address is currently home to a similar concept, Agora Churrascaria.
Galpao Gaucho follows in the proud tradition of its namesake Gaucho culture, and the “authentic dining tradition of the Brazilian cowboy,” which features unlimited premium meats sliced table side for a unique experience.
The brand boasts 17 different types of meat, including beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and fish, as well as a salad bar with upwards of 40 items and side dishes such as garlic mashed potatoes, caramelized bananas, and traditional rice and black beans.
While the brand’s presence is concentrated throughout Northern California – with locations in Cupertino, Napa, Walnut Creek, and Roseville – an Irvine outpost would be its second in Southern California, following a San Diego restaurant that should be opening soon.
